Servicing and Repairs
When you bring an instrument into the repair shop at Blow Woodwind and Brass we will assess your instrument,
provide you with a quote for the work and the timeframe in which it will be completed.
(Prices do not include parts, unless stated otherwise.)
Additional charges apply for polishing instruments.
Woodwind Servicing Description
- Disassemble instrument. (Extra charge for seized rods and pins)
- Instrument ultrasonically cleaned.
- Instrument rinsed and dried.
- Instrument reassembled checking all component (corks, felts, pads, rods/shafts, pivot points)
- Examine & repair tone holes as needed
- Replacing corks, felts, and springs as needed that is worn or degraded
- Oil, adjust and regulate key mechanism
- Reseat/shim pads as required
- Clean inside of case
- Clean mouthpiece and check fitting
- Fit and round tenons (Flute)
- Check over.
Brass Servicing Description
- Disassemble instrument.
(Extra charge for stuck slides or valves) - Instrument descaled
- Instrument ultrasonically cleaned
- Instrument rinsed and dried
- Instrument lubricated and reassembled
- Clean inside of case
- Clean mouthpiece and check fitting
- Check over
- Replace water key corks
- Replace corks, felts, and springs as needed
- Restring rotors and/or adjust linkage on rotary valve instruments
- Align Slides
Woodwind Repairs Available
- Tenon cork replacement
- Spring Replacement
- Straighten bent keys
- Replace key corks
- Remove dents (flutes and saxes)
- Replating
- Customisation
- Tighten joint rings
Brass Repairs Available
- Correct piston valve alignment.
- Correct rotor back bearing fit and alignment.
- Rough out accessible dents (those reachable without unsoldering).
- Resolder Joints
