This work, originally for orchestra, was one of two new pieces added to Arnold’s English Dances of 1951 to complete the score of Kenneth MacMillan’s Solitaire , first performed in 1956 by the Royal Ballet at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London. This arrangement is by Alan Poulton.
