Nocturne – Oboe and Piano (Jefferson)

The Nocturne for oboe and piano is based on a gentle rather wistful theme with some subtle rhythmic variations that make the piece more suitable for a fairly advanced player. There is a middle section in a slightly faster tempo but it does not interrupt the general peaceful indeed nocturnal mood of the piece in spite of reaching a fortissimo climax just before the return of the first theme.
