Stomp – Trumpet in C and Piano

‘Stomp’ is an exciting and spirited work for C trumpet and piano. It was commissioned by Richard Stoelzel as the test piece for the 1st annual World Association of Trumpet Seminar Solo Competition held in Meppen, Germany in 2015. Richard Stoelzel is the Professor of Trumpet and Chair of Brass at McGill University, Montreal, Canada.

The work is heavily influenced by the folk music of Ireland and is a great workout for the advanced trumpet player.

‘Stomp’ has been orchestrated for solo trumpet and wind ensemble and will be the first track on a new CD featuring Richard Stoelzel, Rex Richardson and the Grand Valley State University Wind Symphony.
