The AJB junior oboe is designed to the standards and demands of woodwind instrument maker Andrew Berrington to have an instrument that is affordable, robust, reliable and sounds good.
The keys are designed to be closer together for small hands. The instrument also only has the necessary keys for the first 4 years of playing, including the F vent which many teachers feel is needed to allow a good forked F. There are no trills and low B flat which helps to make this oboe considerably lighter. The keys are silver plated The cork pads are very high quality and seal very well.
The case and presentation are superb !
